Generations Skids and Screech

Jeezum, I've been gone long enough to have a baby!
In that time a ridiculous number of Generations figures have popped up and been begging for new paintjobs! I saw the new mold for Skids pop up and remembered how much I wanted a Generations version of the Million Publishers Skids/Screech two pack that came out a couple of years ago. At the time the best match was Classics Ironhide, but with a new Skids rearing its head, the time has never been better to revisit and update that old digibash with some newness.

The coolest news is that Generations Crosscut has been announced, complete with a new head to match the original. It makes want repaints of these figures into an exclusive two pack all the more.

Shadow in the Sky

Though I've admitted that Torca is my overall favorite Fuzor from Beast Wars, SkyShadow comes in at a razor thin second. I've always loved the design, the combination of beasts, and the dark scheming traitor his bio describes him as. It really makes him a great overall character, and I kind of wish there had been some fiction that focused on him. Clearly someone at Hasbro was a fan as well seeing as how his color scheme pops up on Powerglide in the Wal-Mart "Ultimate Gift Set"! He's the second Fuzor to see a bot/vehicle mode after Quickstrike, and I certainly hope the trend continues!

Anywho, I really liked the way he turned out in that set, and noticed that SkyShadow's colors worked just as well on the Ultra sized Powerglide from Generations. Works for me, because I wanted him to be an aerial rival for Torca and close to his size and bulk.

Nocturnal bashin'

Even though Noctorro was never my favorite Fuzor, I always had a soft spot for the guy. When I started digibashing Fuzors into generations robot bodies, I couldn't think of anyone better suited than the Tracks mold. The overall build, the wings, too perfect!

Shattered Glass Beasties?

With Funpub revealing “Shattered Glass Beast Wars" a couple of weeks ago, I can't say I'm excited. From season 2 onward I was okay with Beast Wars, but was much more entertained by Beast Wars 2 for the most part. The only way FunPub keeps my interest with this go-round is if they give us animals vs vehicles, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Prime as a dragon for the first time ever. Give me a repaint of BW 2 Galvatron with a Prime head and I might actually be interested in what I’m pretty certain is going to be an exercise in boredom.

Electrifying

When classics Kup came out, I didn't think he'd be much use as a base for anyone else-then I got him in hand. I tell you, this mold is deceptively useful and very passable as a number of characters. Gobots Smallfoot, Orion Pax, but particularly, the G2 Laser Rod Electro. I know I know, his alt mode isn't quite the hot rod vehicle the original Electro was, but it's truck like, has the same general body shape, and you paint this baby in gold and detail it and it's pretty solid. Add a new head and an engine to the hood and I think Kup = a pretty dang good Electro. I'll be looking into updating some of the other Laser Rods soon, why not?

Vehicon tank

So there's this TF: Prime game that's slated to come out, and I completely forgot about the images we were shown at Botcon that showcased a tank and helicopter Vehicon. I'm still trying to figure out why Hasbro hasn't recolored the entire line like Vehicons and stuck a Vehicon head on them, people love troop builders! But I digress, just wanted to amuse myself and see how nice the Vehicon colorscheme is when plopped on any mold! A Tank Vehicon, why not?!

GDO Ransack Redux

After messing around with the color matching for my last digibash, started thinking about how funny it is that GDO Powerdive stole Ransack's colors. Turnabout is only fair play, so I tweaked my digibash of GDO Ransack and gave him Powerdive's colors.

 Together again... sure why not?
